THE MOUNTED POLICE LEAD THE WAY
THE CRYSTAL CHANDELIER FLOAT TOOK TOP HONORS THIS YEAR. WAY TO GO GIRLS(AND SIMON)FOR A JOB WELL DONE.
THE OAKWOOD NEIGHBOURS COME THROUGH AGAIN

We aren't sure if Willy had to wear one of those ankle bracelet monitors while out on a day pass but we were glad he was with us.
Ms. South Buffalo made an appearance this year.

Couldn't have a parade here at the beach without a memento or two of the Amusement Park as a part of it.
Now I understand why we had so many police officers following the parade!
A little New Orleans style bawdiness found it's way to our parade this year. Could I have really taught those two girls?

The "Crystal Beach and Friendship Trail Posse"
were out in large numbers.
The lovely Slyvia and her Asst. clean up any "jewels" the posse may have left behind. Actually I had one man tell me he went in the garage for a shovel so that he could use the posse's presents for fertilizer in his garden, only to come out and find someone had already removed it!

"Your Last Fix of Summer 06"
This was the renewal of a cherished tradition for the ending of summer at the beach. A community parade accompanying a casket wound its way through the village of Crystal Beach carrying the symbolic remains of the Summer of 2006. The event ended with a party for all the revelers.
John McCarthy either announcing his farewell to baseball, singing Frank Sinatra's old favorite "My Way" or inviting everyone to get involved in the "Last Fix of 06".
Saturday September 2nd - What a great day for the Crystal Beach community and the "Friends of Crystal Beach" itself. Many thanks to John McCarthy and his committee for all the time, effort and hard work they put in bringing back to life(no pun intended) an age old tradition at Crystal Beach. We also can't say enough about all those that braved the cold and rainy weather to be in the parade or came out and cheered on those that were a part of it. Thanks to all the businesses that either had a float, offered a prize or donated money to help us defray the costs of the parade and party that followed. Hats off to Crystal Beach Elementary School for providing the refreshment tent after the parade. Special thanks to the Town Staff, Fire Departments and Police for making things so easy regarding the interworkings of setting something of this nature up. What a great communal effort by all and it shows what we can do when we work together to make a difference here at the beach.

Now we know what Francie does with all the blow up toys she doesn't sell. Hats off to Ted for his creativeness.

Our trophy maker Benny Lyrette showing off one of only 3 of a kind Special Awards. Benny volunteered to make this years Awards out of some of the remaining wood from the old "Yellow Coaster" in the Crystal Beach amusement park. Value . . . .Priceless!!!
